Liberty Head Football Coach Turner Gill has announced that Tanner Hartman, a Penn State transfer, has been added to his 2014 football roster.

Hartman (6-6, 290) was one 17 signed recruits as part of Bill O'Brien's 2013 recruiting class at Penn State and the offensive lineman redshirted during the 2013 season.

"We are excited to announce the transfer of Tanner Hartman to Liberty," commented Gill. "Tanner is passionate about the game of football. He is athletic and is a physical player."

Tanner, a native of Christiansburg, Va., played high school football at Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg, Va., before signing with the Nittany Lions.

During his time at Liberty Christian Academy (LCA), Hartman played both offensive and defensive line and participated in the 2012 Chesapeake Bowl.

As a senior. Hartman earned VISAA all-state first-team honors and he helped LCA win back-to-back VISAA state championships (2011 and 2012).

Coming out of high school, Hartman was a two-star recruit by Rivals and a three-star recruit by 247sports.com.
Hartman is the son of Tom Hartman, a standout offensive lineman from Virginia Tech (letterwinner – 1982, 1983 and 1984).
