The Liberty Flames men's tennis team was defeated by the High Point Panthers, 6-1, in a Big South match-up played Tuesday at Liberty's Esbenshade-Hershey Tennis Courts.

The contest's doubles action was swept by High Point, despite a contest at No. 3 decided by just two points. 

In singles action, Sebastian Pena picked up Liberty's lone victory of the day. The junior won at No. 3 singles, as he recovered from dropping the first set and proceeded to capture the remaining two sets. With his victory, Pena has now posted four consecutive individual wins, and seven triumphs overall on the season.

The Flames' record now stands at 3-14 overall and 0-6 in the Big South Conference. Liberty returns to action on April 9, as the Flames host the Cougars from Averett University. Match time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
