Yesterday afternoon, the No. 1 seed Liberty Flames were edged by the No. 2 seed Winthrop Eagles, 7-6, in Game 12 of the 2014 Big South Baseball Championship at the Winthrop Ballpark in Rock Hill, S.C.

After Liberty built a 5-2 lead behind home runs by right fielder Will Shepherd and designated hitter Andrew Yacyk, Winthrop rallied in the eighth inning to edge the Flames.

The loss eliminated the Flames from the 2014 Big South Championship.
