Complete Notes - Game 31 - William & Mary

The Game
The Liberty University Flames (18-12, 3-3 Big South) host the Tribe of the College of William & Mary  (19-13, 8-4 CAA) in a non-conference game at Worthington Stadium, on Tuesday, April 3. First pitch for the non-conference match-up is scheduled for  3 p.m.
The Series Against William & Mary
Tuesday's meeting will be the 40th meeting between the Flames and the Tribe on the diamond. Liberty trails in the all-time series, 20-19. Last season, the two squads split a pair of games. The Flames defeated the Tribe, 15-4, at William & Mary's Plumeri Park on April 5.  The Tribe later edged the Flames, 5-4, at Worthington Stadium on May 6.

The Last Time Out
After swapping the lead with the Monmouth Hawks several times on the afternoon, the Liberty Flames plated six runs in the seventh inning to take their final advantage and defeat the Hawks, 11-6, Sunday afternoon at Worthington Stadium. With the win, the Flames captured the final game of the non-conference series after dropping both ends of a doubleheader the previous day.
Garrett Young homered and tripled in the contest for Liberty, driving in two runs.  Teammates Derek Bennion and Tim Nanry also had two hits and two RBI apiece.
The six-run outburst made a winner of reliever Andrew Wilson. He pitched a scoreless 2 2/3 innings, allowing one hit to even his season's mark at 1-1.
