With construction well under way on Liberty's new softball stadium, Alan York of Liberty Flames Sports Network recently caught up with head coach Dot Richardson and construction coordinator Alan Askew for a construction update.

During the interview, Richardson and Askew provide details on the amenities planned for the new softball facility, which is set for completion in late summer.  The stadium is slated to host all of Liberty's softball games, starting in the 2015 spring season.

The interview allows fans to hear about the planning stages, and the progress of construction on the stadium, which will feature 1,000 chairback seats. Liberty's new facility will also have home, visiting and umpires' locker rooms, an expansive athletic training room, a state-of-the-art team meeting room, coaches' offices, a large press box, indoor batting cages, and a large scoreboard and video board, among other amenities.

Fans can also follow the progress of construction through construction cameras provided by liberty.edu.
