Senior Student-Athlete Reflections with Becca Haraf
During last week's inaugural athletics department cord ceremony, volleyball senior Becca Haraf was provided the opportunity to reflect on his time at Liberty.
Haraf was among the 60-plus student-athletes that received cords signifying that they are an NCAA Division I student-athlete. The cord is to be worn during Saturday's commencement ceremonies.
During her four-year career on the volleyball court, Haraf helped the Lady Flames capture three Big South regular-season championships, while claiming the conference tournament title and subsequent NCAA postseason berth in 2011 and 2012. She finished her senior season ranked third on the team with a 2.37 digs-per-set average. For her career, Haraf totaled 767 digs and 76 aces.
Haraf, a defensive specialist from Arlington Heights, Ill., will graduate with a 4.0 GPA as a biology/pre-med major and will receive her degree tomorrow. She was named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America® Division I Volleyball second team. Haraf is a two-time member of the Big South All-Academic Team, and was voted the 2012 Big South Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In 2012, she earned inclusion on the VaSID Academic All-State team. Haraf has received Big South Presidential Honor Roll mention three times during her career.
