As the Liberty softball team prepares for the 2014 Big South Softball Championship, Alan York of the Liberty Flames Sports Network caught up with Lady Flames' first-year head coach Dot Richardson for an interview.

During the interview, Richardson discusses Liberty's season to date, including the team's recent success which included a series victory over Presbyterian College to wrap up the regular season. The Lady Flames hit .345 over the last five games of the regular season, averaging 7.6 runs per game during that span.

Liberty, the ninth seed, opens the 2014 Big South Softball Championship tomorrow at 9 a.m. in Conway, S.C., in a single-elimination game against No. 8 seed Gardner-Webb. The winner of tomorrow's game will advance to the double-elimination portion of the tournament, taking on tournament host and No. 1 seed Coastal Carolina at 2:30 p.m., tomorrow.
