Jamie Crisp earned her first career Big South Player of the Week award.

After helping the Lady Flames post three wins with a big week at the plate, Liberty junior outfielder Jamie Crisp has been named Big South Softball Player of the Week, as announced today.

Crisp earns the first Player of the Week honor of her career. She is the first Lady Flame to be voted Big South Player of the Week since April 15, 2013, when Sammi Shivock received the award.

A native of Sterling, Va., Crisp went 9-for-18 (.500) in six games played last week. She recorded two doubles, three home runs, nine RBIs, seven runs scored and a 1.111 slugging percentage. The junior also added 11 putouts and two assists from right field.

She opened the week by going 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored at Virginia on Wednesday. On Thursday, Crisp went 3-for-3 with two homers (the first two of her career) five RBIs and three runs scored in a 13-4 win over ETSU. She became the first Lady Flame since Jessica Moore in 2007 to post those numbers all in the same game. Crisp recorded hits in each of her first six at bats on the week.

The right fielder began the series against Presbyterian College with a 2-for-3 game one performance, while recording a double. In the series finale at PC, a 7-5 Lady Flames win, Crisp batted 1-for-3 with a home run, four RBIs and one run scored.

The Lady Flames finished the regular season with a 10-44 record, including 4-20 in Big South play. Liberty closed out the schedule with two wins in a row at Presbyterian College, Saturday and Sunday. The team awaits seeding for the 2014 Big South Softball Championship, which will be held May 8-11 in Conway, S.C.
