Jacob DeValve is one of the favorites in both the men's shot put and javelin on Friday.

From the press box at Winthrop's Irwin Belk Track, LibertyFlames.com will provide live blog coverage of all three days of the 2014 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The Liberty men's team will be aiming for its eighth consecutive team title, while the Lady Flames will try to defend their championship from 2013.

I'll be with you for more than 11 hours today, beginning around 9:30 a.m. to preview the men's javelin.

By around 8:45 p.m. this evening, Big South champions will be crowned in 10 different events, including the men's steeplechase, shot put, javelin and decathlon and the women's steeplechase, high jump, pole vault, shot put, javelin and heptathlon.

Also, beginning at 4:30 p.m., athletes will be trying to qualify for Saturday's running event finals in the 100, 200, 400, 800, 1,500, 100/110 hurdles and 400 hurdles.

I will be using the interactive CoveritLive blog interface, which will allow all readers to submit comments and questions throughout the day, as you follow your favorite Flames and Lady Flames' progress.

Without further ado, go Liberty!
