LibertyFlames.com continues its coverage of spring practice today with LFSN reporter Alan York visiting with Flames' defensive line coach Vantz Singletary.

Singletary is beginning his third year with the program and the co-defensive coordinator will be looking to development some upcoming talent on the defensive line this spring.

Liberty graduated three senior starting defensive linemen in 2013 (DE Cory Freeman, DT Francis Bah and NG Jibrille Fewell). The Flames' lone returning starting defensive lineman is rising junior Chima Uzowihe, who earned all-Big South honors with 43 tackles and 9.0 tackle for a loss.

Singletary's linemen helped the Flames' defense lead the Big South and ranked No. 5 in the country in scoring defense (17.6 points per game allowed) and No. 9 in total defense (313.9 yards per game allowed) in 2013.

Liberty will return to the practice field three times this week, holding opening afternoon practices on Tuesday and Thursday (4 to 6:25 p.m.) and a closed Saturday's scrimmage (1 to 3 p.m.).

During this week's spring practice coverage on LibertyFlames.com, York will visit with offensive coordinator Aaron Stamn and cornerbacks coach Marshall Roberts, plus safety Jacob Hagen.
