Mary Cate Cooper recorded a 10K personal-best time of 41:31.36, Saturday morning at the Raleigh Relays.

Redshirt sophomore Mary Cate Cooper was the lone Liberty runner to compete at the Raleigh Relays on Saturday at Paul Derr Track, and she delivered a personal-best time in the 10K.

Racing early Saturday morning, Cooper finished the 25-lapper in 41:31.36, improving upon her previous best by 17 seconds. She ended up 29th in Section B of the event.

Liberty will divide its team once again this coming week. Most of the Flames and Lady Flames will compete in the first home meet of the 2014 outdoor season, the Liberty Collegiate Invitational, Friday and Saturday at the Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex.

Meanwhile, a small group of distance runners will race at the prestigious Stanford Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
