Holly Seiz hit an RBI double on Friday against Campbell.

Campbell rallied for a 5-2 win over the host Liberty Lady Flames during game two of a doubleheader, Friday at Liberty Softball Field.

The Fighting Camels swept both halves of the doubleheader, improving their season record to 16-13, 2-0 in Big South play. Liberty is now 2-20 on the campaign, winless in its last 15 contests.

Stephanie Jones batted 3-for-4 with a double, and home run and two RBIs, while Bailey Bjornson went 2-for-3. Courtney Klingler and Olivia Scarborough both hit homers for Campbell.

For Liberty, Holly Seiz went 1-for-3 with an RBI double and a stolen base, while Sammi Shivock and Hanna Nichols both singles and scored a run.

Campbell's Courtney Roberts (4-4) went the distance, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out two.
Alyssa DiMartino (1-8) drew the loss after yielding four runs on 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings pitched. Annah Jo Brittingham gave up one run on one hit in 2/3 inning of work.

The Camels sent a run across the plate in the top of the second. With one out, Bruce and Scarborough both walked. Bjorson then plated Bruce with a single up the middle. An error loaded the bases with two outs, but Kerstin Womack grounded out, leaving the score at 1-0.

Liberty quickly responded, matching Campbell's run with one of its own in the bottom of the second. Han and Nichols hit back-to-back one-out singles, and a fielder's choice put runners on the corners. An errant throw on a stolen base attempt allowed Nichols to score, tying the game at 1-1.

The visitors left a pair of runners on base in the third, as DiMartino worked around a Jones double and a Bruce single to maintain the tie.

The Lady Flames pulled ahead with a fourth-inning rally. Shivock singled, and went to second on a sacrifice bunt. Seiz then hit an RBI double, giving Liberty a 2-1 edge.

Both DiMartino and Roberts pitched a 1-2-3 fifth inning.

Campbell then knotted the score at 2-2, on a one-out solo home run by Scarborough in the sixth. The Lady Flames then went in order during the bottom half of the inning.

The Camels used home run power to gain a 5-2 lead during the seventh stanza. Klingler homered the left field, and Milly Martinet then hit a single. Brittingham came on in relief of DiMartino, and the first batter she faced, Jones, hit an opposite-field, two-run homer.

Roberts got all three seventh-inning batters to ground out, capping Campbell's 5-2 victory.

Liberty and Campbell will conclude the weekend series tomorrow, with a single game at 1 p.m. at Liberty Softball Field.
