With the 2014 Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships set to begin on Friday in Blacksburg, Va., Alan York of the Liberty Flames Sports Network caught up with Liberty head coach Brant Tolsma to preview the meet.

The men's team is favored to win its 17th consecutive Big South title, while the Lady Flames will likely battle defending champion Coastal Carolina for top honors and chase their fourth conference championship in the last five years.

For the 10th time in conference history, the two-day competition will be held at Virginia Tech's Rector Field House, which features a 200-meter banked track. The meet will get underway Friday at 10 a.m., with the heptathlon 60-meter dash. Saturday's action will also begin at 10 a.m., with the heptathlon 60-meter hurdles.

A detailed meet preview will be available on LibertyFlames.com on Thursday.
