Continuing Live Blog Coverage from CCSA Championships
The 2014 CCSA Swimming & Diving Championships continue, with day two under way at Tennessee's Allan Jones Aquatic Center. Tonight's evening session starts at 6 p.m. with the 500 freestyle B final.
Liberty had a strong showing in the morning prelims, with 11 student-athletes qualifying for tonight's finals (10 in A finals, one in B final).
Emilie Kaufman placed first in 200 IM qualifying, in a conference, meet and program-record time, meeting the NCAA B standard in 2:00.29. Victoria Tschoke and Ranndi Grubbs both qualified for the 200 IM A final, while Morgan Noonan will compete in the B final.
Heather McCorkel led three A final qualifiers in the 500 free, with a program-record 4:51.52 placing her third. Kristin VanDeventer and Emily Duff will also swim the 500 free A final.
Jess Reinhardt swam an NCAA B cut time, 22.76, to finish second in qualifying for the 50 free, while Meghan Babcock, Cori Gary and Chloe Thomas will join Reinhardt in the A final.
Tonight's finals will feature pool-side, live blog coverage as the Lady Flames compete in Knoxville. Look for coverage to begin shortly before the 6 p.m. finals start with an interactive blog, where all are invited to interact with questions and comments.
