Day One Meet Recap

The Liberty swimming & diving team enters day two on Thursday at the 2014 CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships in first place, with 74 points.

On day one, Liberty won the 200 medley relay in a CCSA, meet and program-record 1:38.21, meeting the NCAA B standard. The Lady Flames also placed second in the 800 free relay, with a new program record time of 7:17.75. Liberty's 200 medley relay later swam 1:37.80 in a time trial, earning an NCAA A cut in the process.

Thursday's morning program features preliminary heats of the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 50 freestyle. The top 16 preliminary times in each event will qualify for tonight's finals. There will also be "B" heats of the 200 freestyle relay this morning.

For the first time in program history, Liberty will have a diver compete. Courtney Fox will contest the women's one-meter diving, with preliminaries starting at 1 p.m.

Today's action will feature pool-side, live blog coverage as the Lady Flames compete in Knoxville. Look for coverage to begin shortly before the 10 a.m. prelims start with an interactive blog, where all are invited to interact with questions and comments.
