WWMC Kicks Off Softball Radio Coverage at Women4Women Softball Invitational
WWMC 90.9 FM "The Light" will begin its 2007 softball radio coverage this weekend as the campus station will broadcast each of Liberty's games at the Women4Women Softball Invitational, hosted by Louisville at Ulmer Stadium.

Liberty opens the event against host Louisville at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, followed by a 5 p.m. game against No. 25 California. Liberty will conclude action at the event when the Lady Flames face No. 9 Michigan on Saturday at 3 p.m., and No. 7 Northwestern on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

"The Light" will continue its coverage of Lady Flames' softball when Liberty travels to Knoxville, Tenn., to square off against No. 1 Tennessee for a non-conference doubleheader, starting at 5 p.m., on Monday. The game will mark the second time in program history Liberty has faced the nation's top-ranked team. Liberty opened the 2002 NCAA Regionals against No. 1 UCLA, falling to the Bruins, 3-0, in the team's first-ever NCAA Tournament contest.

In total, "The Light" is scheduled to cover 16 games, plus Liberty's entire run through the Big South Softball Championship, May 10-12 in Conway, S.C. This marks the most games the campus station has covered in program history.

All games throughout the season can be heard live over the radio airwaves at 90.9 FM or via the Internet by logging on to LibertyFlames.com (click Live Audio links on team schedule page) and on to the "The Light" web site, www.TheLightOnline.com.
