Series History Versus Vanderbilt
Saturday's contest will be the first ever meeting between the Lady Flames and the Commodores. It will also be the first time Liberty has faced a member of the ALC (American Lacrosse Conference).

Previewing the Lady Flames
Liberty (0-1) is looking to get in the win column after falling at Richmond, 16-7, last Friday in its season opener. The Lady Flames played the Spiders tough throughout the contest, but a five-goal run to end the first half helped the home team pull away and ultimately win the game.

Sam Struss led the Liberty offense with a pair of goals, while Alyssa Kidder matched Struss' point total of two with a goal and an assist. Nina Dunay, Morgan Becker and Kallie Britton each added a score. Freshmen Courtney Brown and Olivia Becker each recorded their first collegiate points, as Brown tallied a free-position goal and Becker notched an assist. Morgan Becker led the Lady Flames with four draw controls and, along with Britton and Meghan Hammond, had a team-best two ground balls. Goalkeeper Kristen Masullo finished the contest with six stops.

Against Richmond, Liberty posted stronger second half numbers compared to its first half stats. The Lady Flames collected two more shots, four more ground balls, two more draw controls and two more free-position attempts in the second stanza versus the Spiders.

Previewing the Commodores
Vanderbilt is off to a 1-1 start to the season. The Commodores opened the year with a dominating 20-5 win at Kennesaw State, before dropping their home opener to Massachusetts, 13-6. On Wednesday, Vanderbilt was tabbed to finish sixth in the ALC's preseason poll.

Through two games, Mallory Schonk leads the team in points with 11 (6 goals, 5 assists). Kelly Chandler and Amanda Lockwood are second with four points each, while preseason ALC Player to Watch Abby Wheeler has three tallies. Kelly tops the team in draw controls with four and Emma Dagres has a team-best four ground balls. Maddie Kratz has started both games in between the pipes for the Commodores, notching 15 saves and a .469 save percentage.

Looking Ahead
Liberty will play a midweek contest on Tuesday at No. 18 Navy. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
