The Liberty men's tennis doubles tandem of Shea Thomas and Jorge Azuero continues to ascend in the national rankings, coming in at No. 19 in the latest ITA doubles poll. Thomas and Azuero are the highest ranked duo in singles or doubles play in Liberty or Big South history.

Thomas and Azuero, who were previously ranked No. 26, are 2-1 on the young season, with their lone setback coming against 30th ranked Chad Simpson and Boris Arias of LSU. Dating back to the fall, the Flames' duo has racked up 14 victories, which includes a triumph over the current No. 8 pair of Joe Salisbury and David O'Hare of Memphis.

In addition to their No. 19 national ranking, Thomas and Azuero hold the top spot in the ITA's Atlantic Region, which also features No. 1 Virginia's top pair of Mitchell Frank and Mac Styslinger.

The Flames (2-2) are on the road this weekend for a trio of matches in Portland, Ore. Liberty faces Lewis & Clark on Friday at 6 p.m., before challenging Portland on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Seattle on Sunday at 1 p.m.
