Ashley Rininger was named Big South Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season.

For the second time in the last four weeks, Liberty redshirt sophomore forward/center Ashley Rininger has been named the Big South Conference Women's Basketball Choice Hotels Player of the Week.

Rininger, who previously won the honor on Dec. 2, is the first two-time Big South Women's Basketball Player of the Week this season. The native of Canton, Ohio played a key role in the Lady Flames' come-from-behind 64-55 win at UNCW on Thursday.

Liberty trailed the Seahawks by nine points during the second half before Rininger spearheaded the Lady Flames' successful comeback. She scored 12 of her game-high 19 points after halftime, including a layup with 3:23 remaining which gave Liberty the lead for good. She also paced all players with 13 rebounds to complete her seventh double-double of the season and the 10th of her career.

For the season, Rininger ranks among the Big South Conference leaders in field goal percentage (second, 60.0), rebounding (third, 10.4 rpg), scoring (fourth, 16.0 ppg) and blocked shots (tied for eighth, 1.2 bpg).

Liberty (5-5, 1-0 Big South) will return to action Saturday at 2 p.m. when the Lady Flames host conference leader Campbell (7-3, 2-0 Big South) at the Vines Center.
