The Flames Sports Hotline, a weekly radio call-in show, returns to the airwaves this evening at 7 p.m. at Doc's Diner.

New this year, the Flames Sports Hotline will air weekly on the ESPNinVA network, which includes the following ESPN Radio stations in the Central Virginia area: 93.3 FM (Lynchburg), 106.3 FM (Danville), 1240 AM (Roanoke), 1320 AM (Lynchburg) and 1350 AM (Bedford).

The weekly show is hosted locally in Lynchburg on Liberty University's campus at Doc's Diner, and the restaurant is open to the student body and the general public. The show is broadcast live throughout the 50's-style diner and fans are encouraged to participate during the call-in segments.

Alan York, the radio "Voice of the Flames," hosts the call-in show, which will feature head men's basketball coach Dale Layer and assistant women's basketball coach Brittany Campbell this week.

Layer's Flames have won three consecutive games, improving their overall record to 4-5. On Nov. 29 and 30, Liberty defeated Hampton and Sam Houston State to win the Laguna Madre Division Championship of the Corpus Christi Challenge.

The Flames will travel to Austin Peay Saturday at 8 p.m. for a non-conference tilt before returning to the Vines Center Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. to host Howard.

The Lady Flames are also 4-5 after back-to-back impressive home victories over in-state foes Richmond and Radford last week. They will host an exhibition game against Anderson (S.C.) Thursday at noon before closing out their non-conference schedule at UNCW on Dec. 19 at 11:30 a.m.

After the first few segments, York will open up the phone lines and field questions from the radio listening audience or those seated inside Doc's Diner. Fans unable to make it out to Doc's Diner each Monday night may call in at (877) 401-9041 to participate in the weekly show.

Those not able to participate in the call-in portion of the show can also email their questions to LFSN@liberty.edu, prior to the start of the show.

Flames Nation fans can listen to the show locally by tuning their radio dials to any of the ESPNinVA network of stations in the Central Virginia area. The show will also air live online at LibertyFlames.com and can be heard by clicking on the link above.
