Rashad Jennings, a two-time All-American and Walter Payton Award finalist, was one of Liberty's eight selections to the Big South Football All-Decade team.

Eight former Liberty football standouts have been named to the Big South's Football All-Decade Team, which was announced earlier today by the league office.

In conjunction with the Big South Conference's 30th anniversary celebration, the league has announced several other fall sport all-decade teams already this year. The football all-decade team was determined by a pane of conference administrators, along with fan voting.

The Big South Conference started to sponsor football as a championship sport in 2002 and the all-decade team includes members who finished their playing careers from a Big South team from 2002 to 2009.

Liberty's Big South Football All-Decade members include: Dre Barnes (RB/2001-04), Rashad Jennings (RB/2006-08), Chris Luck (TE/2004-07), Mike Godsil (OL/2005-08), Eddie Pinigis (OL/2006-07), Patrick Calvary (DB/2005-08), Dan Pope (LS/2005-08) and Dominic Bolden (RS/2005-08).

Barnes was a three-time All-Big South honoree and became the first Liberty player to earn Big South Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2003. He is Liberty's all-time leading rushing with 4,035 career rushing yards.

Jennings was a two-time Big South Offensive Player of the Year (2007 and 2008) and was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award during his senior season. The current Oakland Raiders starting running back holds Liberty's program record with 42 career rushing touchdowns and ranks third in program history with 3,633 career rushing yards.

Luck was a three-time All-Big South selection, including first-team all-conference honors in 2007 as a senior. The tight end averaged 12.4 yards per catch during his four-year playing career, while recording 46 receptions, 569 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Godsil and Pinigis anchored Liberty's offensive line that paved the way for Jennings and annually helped Liberty rush for 2,000-plus yards and 20-plus touchdowns.

Godsil started all 45 games of his career at center and was a Sports Network honorable-mention All-American as a senior. After transferring from Virginia, Pinigis earned All-Big South honors his final two seasons at Liberty and joined Godsil as a Sports Network honorable-mention All-America selection in 2007.

Calvary, Liberty's lone defensive representative on the all-decade team, was a three-time All-Big South honoree and Sports Network honorable-mention All-American at cornerback in 2007. He finished his career with 149 career tackles, 7.0 tackles for a loss and 32 passes defended.

Pope set the standard for Liberty long snappers during his four-year career, twice earning All-Big South and All-America honors. He served as the long snapper for Liberty's All-America kicker Matt Bevins and all-conference punter Mike Larsson during his career.

Bolden earned Sports Network honorable-mention All-America honors as a kickoff return specialist in 2007 and third-team All-America accolades as a punter returner in 2008. He holds the school record with a 28.8 average yards per kickoff return and had five total special teams touchdown returns during his career (two punt returns and three kickoff returns).

Coastal Carolina and Gardner-Webb led all Big South programs with nine all-decade selections, followed by Liberty's eight honorees, six from Charleston Southern and single selections for Stony Brook and VMI.
