Head Liberty Men's Basketball Coach Dale Layer has announced the signing of A.C. Reid and Stavian Allen for the 2014-15 academic year.

Reid, (G/F, 6-5, Spring Branch, Texas) is currently in his senior season at Smithson Valley High School. After a 21-point performance in an 80-62 win over Seguin, Tuesday night, Reid now has 1,019 points for his high school career. During his junior year, Reid averaged 16.0 points per game, finishing the season with 400 tallies. The small forward shot 47 percent (134-of-284), including 48 percent (76-of-158) behind the three-point arc. Reid, who also played on the summer circuit with the Texas Tigers, chose Liberty over The Citadel, Hampton, Sam Houston State and Cal Poly.

"We set out to add versatile scoring ability from a bigger-sized wing and found it in A.C.," Layer said. "He scores it in multiple ways and can create a shot for others, as well. Since he is originally from Virginia, we are thrilled he is coming back home. His potential is very high."

Allen (F, 6-8, 195, Cary, N.C.), who will finish out his senior year at Pace Academy, also played at Word of God Christian Academy. Known as a combo forward, Allen is expected to provide the Flames' offense with a solid shooting touch. According to Layer and his staff, Allen also fits well with the Flames current offensive and defensive philosophies. The North Carolina native will makes his way to the Hill City after selecting Liberty over Abilene Christian and fellow Big South member Campbell.

"Stavian brings great versatility to our roster," Layer stated. "He has great length and athletic ability. He has a teachable spirit and a strong work ethic. Stavian can play multiple positions and can be an impact player for us."
