Liberty to Square Off with High Point in BSC Quarterfinal
The No. 7 seed Liberty Flames men's soccer team will face the No. 2 seed High Point Panthers in a Big South Quarterfinal match at Vert Stadium, Tuesday evening. The contest is scheduled for 8 p.m. The winner advances to the Big South semifinals against the winner of No. 3 seed Longwood and No. 6 seed Campbell, Friday. The match to be held at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C., is scheduled for 7 p.m.

A Look at Liberty
Liberty completed its 2013 regular season with a 5-5 Big South record and a 9-8 overall mark. With 15 points, the Flames finished tied for seventh place in the conference standings and are seeded seventh for the Big South Men's Soccer Championship.
The Flames have advanced past the first round in five of their last seven conference tournament appearances.
Midfielder Sachem Wilson has paced the Flames in goals and points for most of 2013. The sophomore enters the weekend with nine goals and three assists for 21 points. Wilson's nine goals are the most by a Liberty player since Darren Amoo scored 12 in 2010.
Sophomore Tim Harbison follows with 10 points on four goals and two assists. Midfielder Blessing Tahuona and forward Kyle Breitmeyer have scored three goals each, while Tyler Bullock has netted two goals to join Wilson and Haribson as multi-goal scorers this season. In total, nine Flames have scored a goal this season.
Tahuona leads the Liberty with four assists on the year, while midfielder Jonatan Torres and Breitmeyer have three assists each. The Flames have had 11 different players record an assist this season.
Goalkeeper Jeremy Lee has started the past nine contests and 10 games in 2013 for Liberty. The redshirt freshman has logged over 967 minutes between the posts for the Flames this season, posting a 1.40 goals-against average and .700 save percentage.
Liberty has posted five shutouts, all coming in victories this season. As a team, Liberty enters Friday's game with a 1.33 goals-against average.
Liberty's Jeff Alder is in his 13th year as head coach at his alma mater. Alder has posted a 125-94-22 career record, while heading the Flames' program.
All-Time Against High Point
Liberty and High Point will meet for the 28th time, Tuesday. Liberty holds a slight edge in the all-time series between the two Big South foes, 12-11-4, which began in 1980.
The Panthers and Flames have spilt the four matches (2-2) they have played in the Big South Tournament. The last time the two met during the league's tournament was in the Big South Quarterfinals in 2008, with Liberty defeating High Point, 2-1.
This season, the Panthers claimed a 3-1 win over the Flames at Vert Stadium on Oct. 1. Defender Tim Harbison scored Liberty's goal in the contest.
Liberty in the Big South Championship
Since joining the Big South Conference for men's soccer in 1991, Liberty is 22-17-3 in Big South Championship matches. The Flames have posted an 8-3-2 record at the tournament during the past six seasons, reaching the title game three times during the span (2007, 2009 & 2011).
The Flames have reached the title game seven times in program history, winning the Big South crown twice.
Last season, No. 3 seed Liberty was defeated by No. 6 seed Winthrop, 2-1 in overtime, at Osborne Stadium in the Big South Quarterfinal on Nov. 6.
The Flames won its first Big South crown with a 2-1 victory over Radford on Nov. 18, 2007 at Eagle Stadium in Rock Hill, S.C. In 2011, Liberty captured its second Big South title with a 3-1 win over Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, N.C. on Nov. 13.
The Flames' most common opponent in the tournament has been the Winthrop Eagles. The two teams have split their 11 Big South Championship meetings, 5-5-1. Liberty has faced Radford the second most times, nine, in the tournament and has posted a 5-2-2 mark against the Highlanders.

Wilson Garners Weekly Honors
Liberty forward Sachem Wilson has been named the Big South Men's Soccer Attacking Player of the Week and included on the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for Nov. 4.
Wilson netted three goals during the previous week, helping Liberty record Big South victories over Longwood and Campbell. With two goals in a 3-1 win over Campbell on Saturday, the sophomore posted his second two-goal contest this season and the third for his career.
Duininck Answers Call
Defender Sam Duininck heads into Tuesday night's contest, having started every one of the Flames' matches the past three seasons. The senior and two-time team captain will be among Liberty's starting 11 for the 55th time for the Flames Big South Quarterfinal game with High Point.
