A week after earning her first career NorPac East Division Rookie of the Week award, Liberty freshman Bethany Barr collected her first career Offensive Player of the Week plaudit, as announced this morning.

Liberty has now won five consecutive NorPac East Offensive Player of the Week honors and six overall this year. Ashlee Krulock (1) and Natalie Barr (4) have also earned the award this season. In total, the Lady Flames have received 14 weekly conference honors in 2013.

In Liberty's lone game last week, Barr recorded a goal and an assist in the Lady Flames' 3-0 shutout of Radford on Saturday. The freshman took over the conference and team lead in assists with her 11th helper of the season, setting up Helen Doolittle on the Lady Flames' first goal of the afternoon. Barr currently ranks 11th nationally in assists per game (0.61) and owns the program single-season record.

Barr followed up the assist with her third goal of the season, scoring on a short corner attempt from the top of the circle. It was the Lurgan, Northern Ireland, native's third marker of the year. Barr now ranks 9th in the NorPac in points with 17.

With the regular season complete, Barr and the rest of the Lady Flames turn their attention to the NorPac Championship, which gets under way on Thursday at Liberty Field Hockey Field. Serving as the host of the tournament, No. 1E Liberty is set to face No. 4W Cal in a quarterfinal match on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. For more information on the Championship, including schedule, video and live stats links, visit the NorPac Championship central page by clicking here.
