The Flames notched their fourth win in their last six outings with a 2-1 overtime victory over Longwood, Tuesday night in a Big South Conference game.
Forward Kyle Breitmeyer scored his third goal of the season, 7:18 into overtime, to give Liberty the victory over the Lancers. After the Flames cleared their 18-yard box, midfielder Blessing Tahuona moved up the left side of the field and sent a pass across the length on the field to fellow midfielder Juan Nino. The senior moved the ball into the center of the field, beating a Lancer defender, and inserting a pass into the 18-yard box near the right post for Breitmeyer, who pumped in the game-winner.
Midfielder Sachem Wilson got Liberty on the scoreboard early. The sophomore netted his team-leading sixth goal of the year during the game's eighth minute.
Tahuona assisted on both goals for the Flames to post the first multiple assist game of his career.
