Craycraft Tabbed ECAC Player of Week
Two days after being named Big South Volleyball Player of the Week, Liberty senior Jade Craycraft was tabbed ECAC Division I Volleyball Player of the Week.
Craycraft is the second Lady Flame to earn ECAC Player of the Week honors all-time, following teammate Lillie Happel, who received the award on Sept. 13, 2011.
In the 75 years since its inception, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has emerged as the nation's largest conference. The ECAC has grown considerably from its charter membership of 58, currently boasting over 300 member schools in Divisions I, II and III, ranging in location from Maine to North Carolina.
A native of Wooster, Ohio, Craycraft had an excellent all-around week, hitting .436 while averaging 2.17 kills per set, 8.33 assists per set, 3.75 digs per set and 0.83 blocks per set.
She recorded three straight double-doubles, including back-to-back triple-doubles at William & Mary and against Gardner-Webb. She is the first Lady Flame since Kallie Corbin in 2006 to post consecutive triple-doubles. Craycraft is the only Big South player to record a triple-double so far this year.
Craycraft registered her second career triple-double on Oct. 1 at William & Mary, totaling 10 kills (.500), 38 assists, 12 digs and three blocks. She followed up with a triple-double at home against Gardner-Webb on Friday, with 10 kills (.429), 38 assists, a career-high 19 digs and three blocks. On Saturday, Craycraft hit .357 with six kills, in addition to 24 assists, 14 digs and four blocks in a 3-0 sweep of UNC Asheville.
Liberty (2-14, 1-2 Big South) returns to the road for its next two contests, starting with a 7 p.m. match at Campbell, Friday. The Lady Flames then head to High Point to take on the Panthers, Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Millis Center.
