Craycraft Named Big South Player of Week

Senior setter Jade Craycraft was named Big South Volleyball Player of the Week, Monday.

Liberty senior setter Jade Craycraft was named Big South Volleyball Player of the Week, for matches played from Sept. 30 through Oct. 5.

Craycraft is the first Lady Flame to earn a weekly award from the conference this season. She earns her second career Big South Volleyball Player of the Week honor, as she was named Player of the Week on Oct. 22, 2012.

A native of Wooster, Ohio, Craycraft had an excellent all-around week, hitting .436 while averaging 2.17 kills per set, 8.33 assists per set, 3.75 digs per set and 0.83 blocks per set.

She recorded three straight double-doubles, including back-to-back triple-doubles at William & Mary and against Gardner-Webb. She is the first Lady Flame since Kallie Corbin in 2006 to post consecutive triple-doubles.

Craycraft registered her second career triple-double on Tuesday at William & Mary, totaling 10 kills (.500), 38 assists, 12 digs and three blocks. She followed up with a triple-double at home against Gardner-Webb on Friday, with 10 kills (.429), 38 assists, a career-high 19 digs and three blocks. On Saturday, Craycraft hit .357 with six kills, in addition to 24 assists, 14 digs and four blocks in a 3-0 sweep of UNC Asheville.

Liberty (2-14, 1-2 Big South) returns to the road for its next two contests, starting with a 7 p.m. match at Campbell, Friday. The Lady Flames then head to High Point to take on the Panthers, Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Millis Center.
