Each week during the 2013 football season, the Liberty Flames Sports Network will preview the Flames' upcoming gridiron matchup, continuing this week with a look at Old Dominion.

The Monarchs have posted a 3-2 record in their first year of transition from the FCS ranks to an FBS member of Conference USA. Old Dominion will be Liberty's final non-conference tune-up before the Flames begin Big South play against Coastal Carolina on Oct. 19.

Old Dominion's high-powered offense, which is averaging 49.8 points per game, is led by quarterback Taylor Heinicke. Last year's Walter Payton Award winner is averaging 327.6 passing yards per game and has thrown for 12 touchdowns during the first five games of the season.

The Monarchs are allowing 37.2 points per game and opponents have racked up 484.8 total offensive yards per game against Old Dominion. Strong safety Fellonte Misher leads the defense, as the sophomore has recorded 40 tackles this season (23 solo, 17 assisted).

Kickoff inside Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium is set for 6:07 p.m. The game will be televised on Cox Communications (Norfolk) and carried live in the Lynchburg market on the Liberty Channel. For more information about the game, visit Liberty's Game Day Central page.
