Liberty Channel to Carry Old Dominion Game
The Liberty Channel, the flagship station for the Liberty Flames Sports Network television broadcasts, will air this Saturday's Old Dominion football game live.
Cox Communications is going to broadcast the Flames' road contest and provide the feed to be available on the Liberty Channel. Kickoff for the game is set for 6:07 p.m. at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium.
Cox Communications is the third network to provide a television broadcast of Liberty's football games in 2013. ESPN3 covered Liberty's season opener at Kent State and will broadcast the Flames' upcoming games against Coastal Carolina (Oct. 19), Gardner-Webb (Oct. 26) and Charleston Southern (Nov. 23).
The Liberty Flames Sports Network (LFSN) has already televised Liberty's football games against Monmouth, Morgan State, Richmond and Kentucky Wesleyan. LFSN TV also plans to broadcast Liberty's games against VMI (Nov. 2), Presbyterian College (Nov. 9) and Brevard (Nov. 16).
Liberty's game against Old Dominion will be the Flames' first matchup against the Monarchs and the third first-time opponent on Liberty's 2013 schedule.
The game could feature plenty of scoring. Old Dominion is currently averaging 49.8 points per game (would rank No. 5 in the country if they were eligible for FBS rankings) and Liberty is scoring 37.4 points per game (ranks No. 19 among FCS programs in the country).
Last week, the two teams combined to score 139 points, with Liberty winning 73-7 over Kentucky Wesleyan and Old Dominion defeating Albany, 66-10.
