The Flames tied a program record with 10 touchdowns scored, resulting in a 73-7 victory over visiting Kentucky Wesleyan, Saturday evening, at Williams Stadium.

The Flames tied their second-highest, single-game point total, matching their scoring output in a 73-34 victory over VMI on Nov. 10, 2007. The 66-point victory was also the third-largest margin of victory in program history.

Liberty used big plays throughout the game to secure its third victory at home this year and extend its home winning streak to seven games. Six of Liberty's 10 touchdowns came via plays of 10 or more yards (21 and 55 yard passing plays; 23 and 26 yard rushing plays; 30 yard blocked punt return; 31 yard interception return).

Offensively, D.J. Abnar posted his first career 100-yard rushing game to lead the Flames with 108 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns. Austin Kaigler (two rushing touchdowns) and Darrin Peterson (two receiving touchdowns) also scored twice in the game.

Liberty's defensive effort was evenly spread out with 29 players finishing the game with tackles. Four players recorded interceptions, including a 31-yard interception return for a score by true freshman Gary Sampson.
