Lady Flames Host Campbell, Saturday
Fresh off a win in its Big South opener against Charleston Southern, the Liberty women's soccer team returns to action, Saturday afternoon, playing host to Campbell. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
The Camels currently lead the all-time series against the Lady Flames, 4-2. However, head coach Jessica Hain's squad looks to close the gap further after defeating Campbell last season in overtime, 2-1 (Oct. 13, 2012).

A Look at Liberty
The Liberty women's soccer team returned to the win column, Wednesday afternoon, opening Big South play at Osborne Stadium with a 1-0 victory over Charleston Southern.
Brittany Aanderud posted the lone goal for Liberty late in the first half, courtesy of a Casey Norris assist.
The Lady Flames moved to 6-3 (1-0 Big South) on the season, marking the third straight year Liberty has opened conference action with a victory.
Goalkeeper Holly Van Noord finished the contest with four saves en route to her sixth shutout of the season. Dana McLaughlin played the full contest in between the posts for Charleston Southern, picking up six saves.
According to the latest NCAA statistical rankings, Van Noord is 18th in the country in save percentage (.895) and 25th in goals-against average (.483). As a team, Liberty is 12th in save percentage, 17th in goals-against average and 19th in shutout percentage.
Alanna Dunkle leads the Lady Flames with three goals and three assists on the year. Crystal Elmers, Megan Warner and Aanderud have scored two goals apiece, this season, while Julia Delgatti, Maddie Boone and Geena Swentik each have one.
Campbell at a Glance
The Camels enter Saturday's contest looking to bounce back from a three-game losing skid. On Thursday, Campbell opened Big South play against UNC Asheville, falling to the Bulldogs, 1-0. Despite outshooting Asheville, 18-11, the Camels gave up a goal in the 54th minute, giving the Bulldogs the victory.
Payton Ormsby leads the Camels with four goals, followed Kine Thorsvik, who has three. Thorsvik also has three assists, one behind team leader Lilja Bjork, who has four.
Goalkeeper Alexis Connors has started in between the posts for Campbell in seven contests, this season. The netminder has 17 saves (.607) and a goals-against average of 2.04 (11 goals allowed). Samantha Lawson has made six appearances and one start for the Camels in goal, making nine saves (.643) while allowing five goals (2.36) in 190 minutes of action.
Liberty continues Big South play on Wednesday, beginning a three-game road stretch at Asheville. The Lady Flames are unbeaten against the Bulldogs in the last eight seasons with a 7-0-2 record, which includes a six-game win streak. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
