The Flames Sports Hotline, a weekly radio call-in show spotlighting Liberty's football program, returns to the airwaves this evening at 7 p.m. The show is hosted weekly at Doc's Diner and features Flames Head Coach Turner Gill and a different member of his coaching staff each week.

New this year, the Flames Sports Hotline will air weekly on the ESPNinVA network, which includes the following ESPN Radio stations in the Central Virginia area: 93.3 FM (Lynchburg), 106.3 FM (Danville), 1240 AM (Roanoke), 1320 AM (Lynchburg) and 1350 AM (Bedford).

The weekly show is hosted locally in Lynchburg on Liberty University's campus at Doc's Diner, and the restaurant is open to the student body and the general public. The show is broadcast live throughout the 50's-style diner and fans are encouraged to participate during the call-in segments.

Alan York, the radio "Voice of the Flames," hosts the call-in show, which features Liberty's second-year head football coach and will open this week with a segment with Flames recruiting coordinator and cornerbacks coach Marshall Roberts.

Roberts is the senior member of Liberty's coaching staff, having working under three different head coaches during his 10 seasons on Liberty Mountain.

Three of Liberty's top four defenders in 2013 are defensive backs, including two-time All-Big South selection cornerback Walt Aikens. The Flames' overall defense continues to shine this season as Liberty is ranked No. 10 in the country in scoring defense (14.0 points allowed per game) and has held its last six opponents below 20 points in each of the half-dozen contests.

Following the opening segment with Roberts, York will welcome in Gill for the remainder of the hour-long show. Gill will look back on Liberty's 38-10 Hall of Fame weekend victory over Morgan State, plus preview the Flames' road matchup with nationally ranked Richmond.

After the first few segments with Gill, York will open up the phone lines and field questions from the radio listening audience or those seated inside Doc's Diner. Fans unable to make it out to Doc's Diner each Monday night may call in at (877) 401-9041 to participate in the weekly show.

Those not able to participate in the call-in portion of the show can also email their questions for Gill to LFSN@liberty.edu, prior to the start of the show.

Flames Nation fans can listen to the show locally by tuning their radio dials to any of the ESPNinVA network of stations in the Central Virginia area. The show will also air live online at LibertyFlames.com and can be heard by clicking on the link above.
