Flames Football Fan Fest Returns on Saturday
Liberty Athletics will hold its second annual Flames Football Fan Fest event on Saturday evening in conjunction with the football program's final full practice of preseason training camp.
Williams Stadium gates will open at 6 p.m. for the event and the team will scrimmage from 7 to 8 p.m. The event, which is sponsored by the Flames Club, is free of charge and open to the general public. Many of Liberty's traditional game day activities will be available to fans, including the Kid Zone play areas.
Following the scrimmage, Liberty Athletics will hold an autograph and photo session in the concourse underneath the Williams Stadium Tower. Head Coach Turner Gill and his staff will be available for autographs and photos directly following the scrimmage, followed shortly thereafter by the players. The meet-and-greet session will run for approximately an hour.
As the evening starts to wind down, fans will be granted access to the field where they will have the opportunity to run out of the Liberty Flames tunnel, simulating the team's entrance at each home game.
Concessions will be available throughout the evening with Liberty Dining/Sodexo providing a special combo package for $5 (hot dog, chips and drink).
In addition, the Liberty Flames Sports Network will be doing a 60-minute radio show around the event, starting at 8 p.m. The broadcast will recap the second half of the scrimmage, plus provide post-practice interviews with players and coaches.
