While Liberty's student-athletes excelled on the field and court during the 2012-13 academic year, they also made big plays in the community. Throughout the year, numerous Flames and Lady Flames took part in 32 Lynchburg City School events, 17 seminars and 15 community outreach events.

The following slideshow features photos of Liberty student-athletes giving back to the community through events such as the Give-A-Dollar Campaign, Trick-Or-Treat So Others Can Eat, the Volleyball-A-Thon, Science Night, Reading Buddies and the Keep it Moving with Character Camp.

"This past year, we raised thousands of dollars for school supplies and community projects, collected over 4,000 canned food items and impacted countless lives in the process," Liberty Athletics Student-Athlete Development Coordinator Morgaine Godwin stated. "It's been really exciting to not only see the things we've accomplished, but observe our student-athletes driving the initiative and being willing to serve in the community."
