Niklas Lindstrom was one of three Liberty golfers named to the Virginia Collegiate Golf Coaches Association All-State teams.

Liberty's Mathieu Fenasse, Niklas Lindstrom and Chase Marinell have been named to the Virginia Collegiate Golf Coaches Association (VCGCA) all-state teams, honoring their strong play during the 2012-13 season.

Marinell was one of five players named to the VCGCA first-team all-state squad, while Fenasse and Lindstrom claimed two of the five spots on the VCGCA second-team all-state listing.

Liberty's trio of all-state selections ranked second among fellow Commonwealth golf programs. Virginia Tech led all Virginia schools with four all-state honorees, followed by single selections from Radford, Richmond and Virginia.

Marinell led the Flames with a 72.74 stroke average during the 2012-13 season and finished top 10 in six out of 12 events. Marinell was an All-Big South selection and named to the GCAA PING East All-Region team.

Fenasse finished second on Liberty's roster this season with a 73.97 stroke average. He had four top 10 finishes, spotlighted by his first collegiate victory when he finished first at the 2013 Big South Men's Golf Championship in April.

Lindstrom's 74.63 stroke average ranked third with the Flames this season, while he led the team with four top five finishes. He was named Big South Men's Golfer of the Week a conference-best four times during the 2012-13 campaign.

All three players helped the Flames reach their third-straight NCAA Regional this season where Liberty was an at-large selection to the NCAA Fayetteville Regional at The Blessings Golf Course in Fayetteville, Ark.
Liberty finished the year ranked No. 44 in the final GolfStat ranking and No. 38 in the season-ending Golfweek ranking.
