Following a season where he was continually ranked inside the Top 100 golfers in the country, Liberty's Chase Marinell was recently named to the Division I PING All-Region team, as presented the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Marinell was one of 155 total selections to the Division I PING All-Region team and one of 25 golfers selected to the All-Region East team.

Marinell is the third golfer in program history to be named to a Division I PING All-Regional team, joining Nathan Schenz-Davis (2008/Mid-Atlantic) and Robert Karlsson (2010, 2011 and 2012/East).

Marinell led the Flames during the 2012-13 season with a 72.74 stroke average, which is the sixth-best season stroke average in program history.

The junior currently ranks No. 79 in the latest national Golfstat individual rankings and No. 70 by Golfweek.
The Fort Myers, Fla., native finished Top 10 in six of the 12 events he participated in to lead the team in Top 10 finishes and played 15 of his rounds at par or better throughout the year.

Marinell, a two-time Big South all-conference selection (2012 and 2013), helped the Flames earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Regionals. Playing in his third-straight regional tournament, Marinell led the Flames by finishing tied for 21st place with an eight-over par 224 (76-72-76) on The Blessings Golf Course at the NCAA Fayetteville Regional in Fayetteville, Ark.
