The Flames Sports Network has recently been recognized for excellence in its television broadcast of Liberty Athletics with the network collecting several Telly Awards and a Communicator Award.

The Flames Sports Network (FSN) received a Telly Award and a Communicator Award of Distinction for its production of the Flames SportsDesk show. Also receiving Telly Awards were interviews with Liberty head football coach Turner Gill and Coastal Carolina coach Joe Moglia, the postgame report following the Flames' football game against Concord on Oct. 20 and a special feature on former Major League Baseball player and Liberty alum Sid Bream and The Slide.

With the addition of this year's awards, FSN has now received seven Telly Awards and two Communicator Awards in its history.

The Telly Awards were founded in 1978 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.

Award winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world.

The Telly Awards judging panel includes more than 500 industry professionals, each of who are previous award winners. The council evaluates entries to recognize distinction in creative work. Entries do not compete against each other, but rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit.

Less than 10 percent of the 11,000 annual entries are chosen to win Silver Telly Awards, while approximately 25 percent of entrants receive Bronze Telly Award distinctions.

At its annual awards ceremony in June, the 34th annual Telly Awards will present the Flames Sports Network with its Bronze Telly Award distinctions.

The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program recognizing big ideas in marketing and communications. Founded nearly two decades ago, The Communicator Awards receives over 6,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes. The Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals.

The Communicator Awards is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of Visual Arts, an invitation-only group consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative and marketing firms.
