After posting a 4-3 record in conference contests, the Liberty Lady Flames have garnered the No. 4 seed for the inaugural Big South Lacrosse Championship, the league office announced this afternoon. The Championship will be held at Richardson Stadium on the campus of Davidson College, beginning Friday afternoon.

The Lady Flames will face No. 1 seed Davidson on its home turf at 4 p.m. in the first of two semifinal contests, Friday. The Wildcats earned the No. 1 seed after notching a perfect 7-0 mark to top the Big South standings. Earlier this season at Liberty Lacrosse Field, Liberty fell to Davidson, 12-5. The Wildcats hold the all-time series edge versus the Lady Flames, winning each of the five previous contests between the two schools.

The other semifinal matchup pits No. 2 seed High Point (6-1 Big South) against No. 3 seed Longwood (5-2 Big South). The game between the Panthers and the Lancers is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The winners of each match will advance to the Big South title game on Sunday.

Friday's semifinal contests will be streamed live on the Big South Network, while Sunday's championship tilt will be aired live on ESPN3 at 2 p.m. The Big South champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship.
