Liberty University senior pitcher Sarah Swor has been named this week's Big South Player of the Week, honoring the hurler's efforts in the Lady Flames' three games this past weekend.

Swor (Sr., RHP, Elkview, W.Va.) finished the weekend with a .625 batting average as she was 5-for-8 in the trio of contests. The senior also added three runs scored, seven RBI, two home runs, two walks and a 1.375 slugging percentage in a single game against Appalachian State and a doubleheader against Gardner-Webb.

Swor opened the three contests by going 3-for-4 against the Mountaineers with two runs scored and a home run. She also drove in three, including a pair of runs to break a three-all tie in the seventh, giving Liberty a 5-3 win.

In the first game against the Bulldogs, Swor was 1-for-2, including a three-run homer and a walk with the base loaded to give her a career-high four RBI. She was also the winning pitcher in the 10-2 five-inning contest as she allowed one run on three hits in four innings of work.

Swor closed out the opening weekend by going 1-for-2 in the final game against Gardner-Webb, giving the hurler her third three-game hitting streak of her career. The day also marked the first time in her career which she has hit home runs in back-to-back games.

This marks the first time which Swor has been named Big South Player of the Week. She has been honored as Big South Pitcher of the Week four times during her career.

The Lady Flames opened the 2007 campaign with a 2-1 record and will next travel to Kennesaw, Ga., to participate in the KSU Classic, featuring host Kennesaw State and College of Charleston this Saturday and Sunday.
