Following a fourth-place finish at the Morris Williams Invitational, Liberty's Niklas Lindstrom has been named the final Big South Men's Golfer of the Week for the 2012-13 season.

This is the fourth time this year Lindstrom has been named the Big South's top weekly men's golf honoree, with two honors coming during the fall (Sept. 20 and Oct. 4) and the third on Feb. 14. No other Big South men's golfer this season has been named Big South Men's Golfer of the Week more than twice.

The Kalmar, Sweden, native tied a career-low 54-hole total with a four-under par 209 (74-65-70), finishing fourth in a field that included 11 out of 12 programs currently ranked inside the Top 50.

Lindstrom's fourth-place finish was aided by a career-low 18-hole score when he fired a six-under par 65 second round. The junior has carded three sub-70 rounds this season.

The junior's superb second round helped Liberty card a 10-under par 274 as a team, marking the Flames' second-best 18-hole team score in program history.

Lindstrom currently ranks second on the team and eighth in the Big South Conference with a 73.59 stroke average. He leads the team with four top five finishes this season.

Lindstrom and the rest of the Flames will look to defend their back-to-back Big South titles, starting this weekend when the 2013 Big South Men's Golf Championship starts on Sunday.

The 54-hole event will be contested at The Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, S.C., the site of Liberty's last two championship runs. The winner of the conference crown will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.
