• SERIES WITH OLD DOMINION: Tuesday will be the 55th meeting between the two schools on the baseball diamond.  Old Dominion leads the all-time series, 34-20.
• First of two meeting between the Flames and the Monarchs this season. The two teams will met again next Tuesday in Norfolk, Va.
• Liberty and Old Dominion have met on the baseball diamond in 16 out of the past 18 years. 2006 and 2011 were the only seasons the two teams did not meet.
• Liberty is 14-5 (.737) at the new Liberty Baseball Stadium and have a 100-48-1 (.674) at home under head coach Jim Toman.
• Liberty enters the week, hitting .283 with runners in scoring position.  
• Liberty's game against West Virginia on Sunday completed a stretch of eight games in nine days for the Flames.

• The Flames had a season-high 18 hits in a 9-2 win over West Virginia, Saturday.
• 2B Bryan Aanderud hit .636 for the three-game series, including back-to-back three-hit games on Saturday and Sunday. The 2B has posted five three-hit games this season.
• With his weekend at the plate, the senior takes over the team batting average (.340) and RBIs (29) lead. He led the Flames in both categories in 2012.
• On Saturday, Aanderud had a career-high six RBIs in Liberty's 9-2 win.
• OF Ashton Perritt also had three hits and scored a career-high four runs in the Flames'
victory, Saturday.  The outfielder also stole two bases.
• Sunday, RHP Trey Lambert pitched his second complete game of the season.  
However, the junior was on the short-end of a 2-1 score against West Virginia, 4/14.
• On Wednesday night at No. 1-ranked North Carolina, Liberty rallied for four runs in the ninth, but fell to the Tar Heels, 7-5.
• Perritt hit his second home run of the season in the third inning. He also walked with the base loaded to finish the night with two RBIs.
• C Trey Wimmer was added to the 2013 Johnny Bench Award Watch List, Tuesday.  The award goes each year to the college baseball's top catcher.
• Tuesday night, Liberty came back from a 6-0 deficit after two innings for a 12-11, 10 inning win over James Madison.  The Flames collected a season-high 18 hits in the contest.
• The Flames scored two runs in the 10th inning for the win.  OF Nick Paxton was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and two outs to force in the winning run.
• DH Danny Grauer had four hits, including two home runs and a double, and drove in four runs in Liberty's win. Grauer's four RBIs tied a career-high for the designated hitter.

Wimmer Added to Johnny Bench Award Watch List
• Liberty catcher Trey Wimmer has been added to the Johnny Bench Award Watch List, the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced last Tuesday.
• The award honors annually the nation's top collegiate catcher based on athletic ability, sportsmanship, team leadership and character.
• Three semifinalists will be determined in May by a selection committee and a vote of all
Division I head coaches, held during the College World Series, will determine the award's recipient.
• C Trey Wimmer enters the week among the Big South leaders in several offensive
categories:
    • Hits (44) - 12th
    • RBIs (28) - Tied 8th
    • Slugging Percentage (.511) - 8th
    • Doubles (13) - Tied 4th
    • Triples (3) - Tied 1st
    • Total Bases (69) - 8th
    • Hitting with Runners on Base (.410) - 4th
    • Average in RBI Opportunities (.425) - 5th

• Defensively, he has thrown out 52 percent of runners attempting to steal a base.
• The catcher leads the Flames in slugging percentage, doubles, triples and total bases.

Paxton Takes One for the Team
• OF Nick Paxton enters the week  having been hit by a pitch 14 times.
• The junior OF leads the Big South in the category and ranked 22nd in the country in the latest NCAA statistical rankings (4/10).
• This past Tuesday, Paxton was hit by a pitch for the 12th time this season with the bases loaded and two outs to force in the winning run in Liberty's 12-11, 10 inning win over James Madison.
