Lady Flames Snap Longwood's 8-Game Winning Streak, 8-7, on Monday
Liberty built a 6-1 lead through 5 1/2 innings on Monday night at Longwood, before the host Lancers rallied to tie the game, 6-6, in the bottom of the sixth. The Lady Flames scored twice in the seventh, and held on for the 8-7 win, ending Longwood's eight-game winning streak. Liberty capitalized on six Longwood errors on the evening. Half of Liberty's six conference wins so far this season have been decided by one run each.

Katie Zavodny went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, while Hanna Nichols continued her hot hitting as well, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Record Hitting Sends Liberty Past CSU, 15-4
The Lady Flames opened a three-game conference series at Charleston Southern with two losses on Saturday. However, Liberty bounced back on Sunday, scoring 11 unanswered runs and registering a program-record-tying 19 hits in a 15-4 win over the Buccaneers.

Liberty's 15 runs were its most against a conference opponent since a 15-6 win over CSU on April 22, 2005.
On Sunday at CSU, Katie Zavodny tied her own program record with five hits (also Feb. 27 versus Hampton), and she is the only Lady Flame ever to record a five-hit game.

Holly Seiz drove in six runs on Sunday at CSU, one shy of a school record. Seiz is the first Lady Flame since Kelly Strickland (April 20, 2011) to record six RBIs in a single game.

Chasing History
Katie Zavodny has made a run at several records so far this season.

She has set the single-game record for hits (5, two times), and also tied Alycia Stevens' (1995) record with a 23-game hitting streak from Feb. 24 through April 3.

Zavodny, with 29 stolen bases, needs 11 more to break Stacy Radulovich's single-season program record of 39, set in 1996. The junior outfielder has stolen 67 career bases, 13 shy of Radulovich's (1996-99) program record for career stolen bases, 80.

Where are We?
Wednesday's doubleheader at UNCG wraps up a span of six games in five days, played in three different states (South Carolina, Virginia, North Carolina).

Through the first four games of this road swing, the Lady Flames are batting .310 while scoring nearly seven runs per game.

Katie Zavodny has batted .500 over the last four games, while Jill Stephens and Holly Seiz both hit .462 during that span. Seiz has driven in nine runs during the last four games, bringing her season RBI total to 17. Hanna Nichols is hitting .385 on this road trip, while Sammi Shivock has posted six RBIs. Pitcher Annah Jo Brittingham is 2-1 with a 3.62 ERA over Liberty's last four games.

Take it On the Run
Junior Katie Zavodny is the conference leader in steals, and is ranked No. 2 in the nation, having stolen 29 bases in 35 games played this season. She has set a new single-season career high, as her 29 steals are the third most in program history. With one more steal, she'll become the third Lady Flame to post a 30-steal season.

Liberty has already surpassed its team stolen base total from the 2012 season, with one month remaining in the regular season. Last year, the Lady Flames stole 44 bases on 53 attempts, while Liberty is 47-for-60 in stolen bases so far this year.

Liberty vs. UNCG
UNCG brings a 25-10 record, including 7-4 in SoCon play, into Wednesday's doubleheader. The Spartans have not played a game since last Tuesday, April 2, when they dropped a doubleheader to Virginia Tech. Allison Geiner and Lindsay Thomas both bat .396, with Thomas hitting a team-high 13 home runs. Katelyn Bedwell bats .387 and leads the team with 37 RBIs. Heather Robb has a .344 average, while Eileen Horsmon (.333) has hit a team-best 11 doubles. Raeanne Hanks, the SoCon Pitcher of the Month in both February and March, has posted a 14-4 record and a 1.91 ERA.

The Spartans are 29-9 all-time versus the Lady Flames, with UNCG claiming each of the last four meetings. Liberty and UNCG met 10 times as Big South opponents from 1994-97, coinciding with the Lady Flames' first four seasons as a Division I softball program. Liberty's last win over UNCG in Greensboro came on April 18, 2007, a 4-2 Lady Flames win highlighted by two-RBI games from Beth Bennett and Ashley Williams.
