Liberty Volleyball Completes First Spring Tournament at Duke

Liberty setter Jade Craycraft recorded 11 kills at a .434 pace on Saturday at a spring volleyball invitational hosted by Duke.

Liberty volleyball began its spring schedule on Saturday, competing in an invitational hosted by Duke in Durham, N.C.

The Lady Flames battled a pair of ACC opponents, North Carolina and Duke, in addition to Wingate and UNCG.

Liberty swept UNCG (25-23, 28-26), getting four kills each from Caroline Douglas, Lillie Happel, Monica Johnson and Jade Craycraft.

The Lady Flames split a pair of sets with Wingate, and played UNC (23-25, 22-25) and Duke (23-25, 18-25) in closely-contested matches before falling in two sets.

For the day, Caroline Douglas led the Lady Flames with 24 kills, including eight kills against both Duke and UNC. Monica Johnson recorded 16 kills, while setter Jade Craycraft had 11 kills at a .434 pace. Gabrielle Shipe collected a team-high 26 digs during Saturday's matches.

The Lady Flames will next play in an invitational at Virginia Tech, held April 13 in Blacksburg, Va.
