The Game
The Liberty University Flames (12-13, 6-5 Big South) are set to take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (13-12, 6-5 Big South) at the Vines Center (8,500) in Lynchburg, Va., on Feb. 12, 2007. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST.

The game will be televised on the Flames Television Network with play-by-play by Ray Jones and color analysis from Tim Scarborough. The broadcast will also be streamed live on the internet via LibertyFlames.com at LibertyFlames.com.

The game will be broadcast on WRVL 88.3 FM with play-by-play by Jerry Edwards.
All games can also be heard via the Internet by logging onto the Flames' web page (www.LibertyFlames.com) and clicking on the "Live Audio" link. 

Liberty Versus Coastal Carolina
Liberty holds the all-time series advantage with a 21-17 mark. The Flames are 9-9 at Coastal Carolina and 12-8 at home. The Flames dropped the last meeting, 70-65, at Coastal Carolina on Jan. 20.

Blair Versus Coastal Carolina
In eight career games against the Chanticleers, Larry Blair is averaging 16.6 points per game. Blair scored 26 points in the last meeting. 

Blair On Fire
Larry Blair scored 11 of his game-high 21 points during the final six minutes of the Flames' loss at UNC Asheville on Jan 6. 

Brewington Scores 700th Career Point
Against Winthrop on Feb. 6, Dwight Brewington reached the 700 career-point plateau.
Including his two years at Providence, Brewington has 702 career points. Brewington scored 464 points at Providence and 251 with the Flames.

Blair Leads Race To Big South Record Of Games Played
Larry Blair has played 116 career games. There is currently a four man race for the Big South record for games played, set by Pierre Wooten of Winthrop (120) from 1998-03.
Landon Quick of High Point is also at 116 career games. Phillip Williams and Craig Bradshaw of Winthrop are also in the hunt with 114 career games. 

Should Blair not miss any games remaining on the Liberty schedule, he would be the first to reach 120 games, which will be the Flames' Feb. 21 game at VMI. Blair would also be the first to reach 121 games, when the Flames play at Radford on Feb. 24. The final leader will depend on which teams advance deep into the Big South Championship. 

Blair One Of Three In The Nation
Larry Blair is one of three active players in the nation who have amassed 50 career games scoring at least 20 points. Blair collected a 20 spot for the 50th time on Feb. 6 at Winthrop when he scored 23 points. Nick Fazekas of Nevada has done it 60 times and Gary Neal of Towson has done it 57 times. 

Blair On Verge Of Big South First
Larry Blair is 34 rebounds and seven assists away from being the first player in Big South history with 2,000 points, 200 three-point field goals, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals in a career. 

Blair needs to average 5.7 rebounds per game to reach 500 career rebounds by the end of the year. Blair also needs to average 1.2 assists per game to reach 300 career assists.

Blair A Scoring Machine
During Larry Blair's career, he has scored at least 20 points in 50 of his 116 games. Blair has scored at least 15 points in 76 out of 116 career games and has tallied double figures in 46-straight contests and 58 of his last 59 games. 

Blair has tallied double figures in 99 of his 116 career games, which includes 109 career starts. In addition to Blair, only three other active NCAA Division I players are approaching or have accomplished at least 100 career starts and 100 double-figure scoring games. Nick Fazekas of Nevada has 107 starts and 105 career double-figure scoring games, Jamar Wilson of Albany has 110 career starts and 96 career double-figure
scoring games and Brandon Heath of San Diego State has 110 starts and 102 career double-figure scoring games. 

Blair Set To Break Big South Records
Larry Blair now ranks second all-time in league history with 747 field goals made, passing Radford's Doug Day (715) on Jan. 27. The Big South career record is 775 field goals, held by Big South Hall of Famer Tony Dunkin of Coastal Carolina (1989-93). 

Blair now ranks first all-time with 1,819 field goal attempts, passing Day (1,782) for the top spot on the conference list at Winthrop on Tuesday. 

A Blair First
Larry Blair fouled out for the first time in his career on Dec. 21 against Lipscomb. It took 101 games for Blair to foul out of a game.

Liberty Pulls Niagara In O'Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters
The Liberty University men's basketball team will play the Niagara University Purple Eagles of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as part of the O'Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters on Feb. 17. Game time is set for 4 p.m. EST in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
This will be the first meeting ever between Niagara and Liberty. Two years ago, the Purple Eagles were in the NCAA Tournament. The Flames are 2-4 all-time against the current members of the MAAC, with their most recent victory coming during the 2005-06 season when Liberty won at Marist, 69-67. 

February Record
Under the direction of head coach Randy Dunton, the Flames have posted a 24-21 record during the month of February. Overall, Liberty has posted a 154-172 record, 1110-53 at home, 7-115 on the road and a 6-4 mark at a neutral location in the second month of the year. 

This Date In Liberty History
The Flames have posted a 5-6 record on the 12th of February. In 2005, the Flames beat Charleston Southern, 70-66. In 2000, Liberty beat Coastal Carolina, 58-52. In 1994, Liberty won at UNC Greensboro, 65-63. In 1990, lost to Coastal Carolina, 68-66. In 1988, the Flames beat Pitt-Johnstown, 85-84. In 1982, Liberty lost at Concord, 46-42. In 1981, the Flames lost at East Tennessee State, 53-30. In 1980, the Flames lost at Mary Washington, 76-73. In 1979, the Flames won at Gallaudet, 83-62.

On The Brink Of History
Larry Blair is quickly climbing the Liberty and Big South Conference all-time scoring lists. Blair entered the season with 1,580 career points. Here is how Blair currently stacks up on the Liberty and Big South all-time scoring lists: 

Blair needs 78 points or to average 13.00 points per game through the Flames' remaining six games which include the first round of the Big South Championship, to take sole possession of the Big South career scoring title. If Blair averages his season mark of 19.8 points over the next four games then he will break the record on Feb. 22 at VMI.
