After closing out the regular-season with 11 consecutive wins and claiming its 14th Big South regular-season title, the Liberty women's basketball team is ranked a season-best No. 18 in this week's CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25.

Liberty (24-6, 16-2 Big South) posted a pair of home victories to close out the regular season last week. The Lady Flames defeated Coastal Carolina, 68-31, before posting an 88-62 triumph over Charleston Southern. Liberty's 16 conference wins tie the all-time Big South single-season record, which the Lady Flames initially set in 2011-12.

Delaware remains atop this week's Top 25 poll, followed by Green Bay and Gonzaga. The women's Mid-Major Top 25, now in its third year of existence, is comprised of teams from the America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt and West Coast Conferences.

This week, the Lady Flames will attempt to win their 15th Big South Women's Basketball Championship title in 17 years, at The HTC Center in Conway, S.C. Liberty, which enters the tournament seeded No. 1, will face either No. 8 seed Coastal Carolina or No. 9 seed Gardner-Webb in the quarterfinal round, Friday at 8 p.m.
