For the 14th time in the last 16 seasons, Liberty has earned the No. 1 seed for the 2013 VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Women's Basketball Championship. The Lady Flames will play the winner of Wednesday's game between No. 8 seed Coastal Carolina and No. 9 seed Gardner-Webb in the quarterfinal round, Friday at 8 p.m. inside The HTC Center in Conway, S.C.

Liberty, which is 24-6 overall, tied the Big South record for conference victories with a 16-2 mark. The Lady Flames have won the Big South Championship title 12 of the 13 previous times they have been seeded first, including last season.

If the Lady Flames win on Friday, they would face either No. 4 seed High Point or No. 5 seed Campbell in the semifinals Saturday at 8 p.m. The championship game is slated for next Sunday at 5 p.m.

The entire tournament will be contested inside Coastal Carolina's brand-new The HTC Center, in conjunction with the Big South Men's Basketball Championship.

Winthrop went 14-4 in conference play and swept two games from Presbyterian College, garnering the No. 2 seed and relegating the Blue Hose to No. 3 in their tournament debut. High Point and Campbell also posted matching conference records at 11-7, with the Panthers winning the tiebreaker and the No. 4 seed while the Camels are seeded fifth and earn the final bye to the quarterfinal round.

Radford went 9-9 in the Big South for the No. 6 seed, with Longwood and Coastal Carolina following closely at 8-10. Conference newcomer Longwood won the tiebreaker and the No. 7 seed, while the host Chanticleers will begin as the No. 8 seed.

Gardner-Webb (5-13, No. 9 seed), Charleston Southern (3-15, No. 10 seed) and UNC Asheville (0-18, No. 11 seed) round out the tournament seeding.

Liberty fans will have several ways to keep up with the action if they are unable to make it to The HTC Center. Friday's quarterfinal games will be video streamed on the Big South Network. Meanwhile, both the semifinals and championship game will be aired on ESPN3.

Additionally, Jamie Hall will broadcast each of Liberty's games on 90.9 FM "The Light." The radio call will also be streamed on LibertyFlames.com and thelightonline.com
