Complete Game Notes
The Liberty men's basketball team concludes its 2012-13 season on the road, squaring off against Radford, Saturday. Although the Highlanders lead the all-time series over the Flames, 32-29, Liberty is currently on a five-game win streak against Radford and has taken the last four contests inside the Dedmon Center. However, the Flames will encounter a Radford squad that is coming off a 63-58 win over North Division leader High Point, Wednesday.
Game time for the season finale is slated for 4:30 p.m. Official seedings for the 2013 VisitMyrtleBeach.com Big South Basketball Championship will be announced following the game, Saturday evening.
What to Watch for
- Davon Marshall needs three more treys to secure the No. 3 spot on Liberty's single-season three-point field goal listing. The Niagara Falls, N.Y., native will look to rebound after going 1-of-4 from long range on Wednesday against VMI.
- Beginning with Liberty's first meeting with Radford this season, John Caleb Sanders has averaged 20.7 ppg in the last seven contests. The junior's lowest point total in the span was a 14-point performance in Liberty's 79-73 overtime win against Austin Peay, last Saturday. With over 900 points in his Liberty career, look for Sanders to continue the trend as he gets closer to joining his brother in the program's 1,000-point club.
- While the tandem of Javonte Green and R.J. Price account for over 40 percent of the Highlanders' offense, the Flames cannot afford to sleep on Radford's support players. Against North Division leader High Point, it was Rashun Davis and Kion Brown who paved the way for the Highlanders, leading the team with 17 and 14 points, respectively.
- Despite Liberty's 7-21 record at the Dedmon Center, the Flames are looking for their fifth straight win inside the facility. Liberty's has not lost in the Dedmon Center since Feb. 2, 2008, as the Highlanders narrowly won, 89-88.
