Continuing Coverage from CCSA Championships
Friday's morning session saw the Lady Flames qualify 12 swimmers to the finals, with eight making A finals and four qualifying for B finals. Liberty qualified 1-2 in both the 100 fly and 100 breaststroke, breaking conference records and setting NCAA B cuts in both events.
Jess Reinhardt swam a conference-record and NCAA B-cut time of 53.58 to place first in qualifying for the 100 fly, followed in second by defending champion Bethany Wakeley (55.28). In the 100 breast, Emilie Kaufman broke the conference record with a B cut of 1:01.04, while Laura Day was second in qualifying at 1:01.75, also meeting the B standard.
The Lady Flames qualified three swimmers for the A final in the 100 back (Brye Ravettine – 2nd, 55.46; Emily Duff – 5th – 55.99; Kendall Hough – 8th, 56.31). Cori Gary qualified in sixth for the 200 free A final, in 1:52.18.
