Lady Flames Return to Mid-Major Top 25

For the first time since Nov. 27, Liberty is ranked in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25. The Big South Conference-leading Lady Flames check in at No. 24 this week.

Liberty (18-6, 10-2 Big South) has climbed back into the Mid-Major Top 25 thanks to five straight victories overall and nine consecutive road wins. Most recently, the Lady Flames posted a 97-56 win at Longwood on Saturday.

Delaware tops the poll, followed by Green Bay and Gonzaga. Liberty is the only Big South squad to appear in this week's Mid-Major Top 25.

The women's Mid-Major Top 25, now in its second year of existence, is comprised of teams from the America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt and West Coast Conferences.

The Lady Flames will play a pair of games at the Vines Center this week, beginning Thursday at 7 p.m. versus Winthrop. The Eagles sit one game behind Liberty in the Big South standings at 9-3.

On Saturday, Radford will visit the Vines Center for Liberty's annual Play 4Kay Game in support of breast cancer awareness. The game will tip off at 3 p.m. and will air live on ESPN3. Following the contest at 6 p.m., the Liberty men's basketball team will play host to High Point to complete the doubleheader.
