Brittany Yang

Under the direction of first year head coach Jeff Maren, the Liberty women's tennis team enters the 2013 season with high hopes for success. Throughout the 2013 season, LibertyFlames.com will provide a look at each of the Lady Flames' players.

Brittany Yang paced Liberty with 11 singles victories in 2012 during her freshman campaign. Yang proved to be a versatile player, competing in four different singles positions during the season. In doubles play, the Georgia native tallied eight wins, while playing the majority of her matches in the No. 1 position. During the 2012 fall tournament schedule, Yang collected four wins in singles action and five victories in doubles matches. The sophomore is off to a fast start in 2013, posting a win in both singles and doubles play in the Lady Flames' season-opening dual match against Appalachian State on Jan. 27. Yang was tabbed the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her efforts against the Mountaineers.

From the Head Coach: "I appreciate Brit's work ethic and willingness to listen in order to improve.  She has the desire to raise her game to the next level and this inspires me and the rest of the team to climb to new heights this year."
